Winter has just started – welcome to Maos Corto
When most of you enjoy the end of beginning of autumn, we visited Maos Corto in South Tyrol to witness the season opening.
Maso Corto is a small village, I felt in love with 10 years ago. 40 minutes of car drive up to the mountain prepares us for the most wonderful experiences among the nature. The glacier ski area has a terrific wide-open slopes (37 km), mountains around the hotel are perfect for trekking for more and less demanding and experienced and the Val Senales valley will spoil all your senses (perfect place for food lovers).
We stay in Top Residenz Kurz w Maso Corto at 2011 meteres above sea level – from here in a few minutes (being exact 6!) you can get to the hight of 3212 meters, where you can find a winterwonderland. Icicles, snow powder and still a few skiers are the witnesses that here the winter has just began.
Piotr Burda from narty.pl (famous website for skiers in Poland) says that Val Senales is a cosy Glacier for everyone. “This is how in one sentence I can describe the ski area of Maso Corto. Skiers will find here slopes with different level of difficulty. I especially recommend short but very demanding slope of Leo Gurschler, where the World Cup skiers train. Less advanced skier can enjoy my second favourite slope, which is located just next to the slope for cross-country skiing. The Glacier is one of the earliest opened ski areas in the Alpes, where usually skiers can start the season in the second week of September”.
